My Story

The Highlights of My Life…

Whenever my children would ask if we could do something like play a game or go somewhere, I would frequently answer “someday”, smile and walk away. I used this expression because it seemed to appease them and I didn’t have to say “no”. Only one day when I said it to my 6 year old son, his response to me was “okay mommy, but does someday ever come?” Out of the mouths of innocent children I saw that I was always making excuses for not having enough time or being too tired. It was obvious that I had put all my energy into what really didn’t matter. My priorities were terribly scrambled and completely out of whack.

The day came that I was disgruntled with hearing myself say “someday” so much that I decided to do something about it. I realized that my children will only be young for such a short time and that they were really just visitors in our home. It was time to say “someday” to some of the lesser important things I was doing in my life. It took re-evaluating my priorities and stacking them in the proper order to be able to give my children their “someday”.

Now my children are grown, living away from home and I am so thankful for the memories of all the “somedays” we shared. Not only was it essential for my children that they could trust me to make their “someday” happen but it was also rewarding to me to have those “somedays” with them. Our memories are precious to us and we share with laughter the experiences of the “somedays”.

The reason I am telling you this story is that if you are feeling the pressure of what you should do versus what you want to do, I can help you find ways to balance that time and achieve both. Do you feel that pull on your leg as you walk out the door in the morning to go to work and a little voice down below saying, “Mommy, I don’t want you to go! Can’t you stay and play with me?” Do you hear the little knock at your home office door with a tiny voice saying, “Are you working again?” Or how about the one that says, “But, dad you said we could play ball latter.” But later came and went.

What I can do for you is help you to find that “someday” in your life. I can help you organize your time so that you can have that extra special occasion to spend doing what you would enjoy most!
