My Experience
The Past Chapters of My Life!…
My book of life is filled with various chapters. Some of my life chapters are more adventurous than others, but all are equally important to my character. My personality is filled with love, compassion, humor, high integrity, balance focused and I am constantly being nourished by God in everything I do. I am mostly an extrovert with introvert tendencies in new situations. I take pleasure in getting to know people on a deeper level and enjoy inspiring and being inspired by everyone I meet.
I have been married to the same loving gentleman for 32 years and we are still best friends! My education consists mostly of Psychology and Human Services with an emphasis on family and family values. Prior to this I received a degree from the Glendale College of Business.
My past experiences are quite varied. In my earlier years I was an executive assistant and bookkeeper for a small store fixture business. Then I received the greatest gifts of all, my children. I was fortunate enough to have several years at home helping them learn to be true assets to society. In this career I learned to wear many hats and discovered my enjoyment in working with families. My people skills, goals setting skills and organizational skills were becoming more and more evident and refined. During that time, nevertheless, I did return to school and to work intermittently just to keep my foot in the door and my brain up to speed. In preparing for my children to attend college my husband and I bought a Mail Boxes Etc. Franchise business in 1988 along with the Area/Regional Franchise rights for selling the franchises within the Marin and Sonoma Counties of California. Along with running our own two stores we sold, built out and supported 16 additional franchises. During that time, I was also the Regional President for the Northern California Mail Boxes Etc. Areas in which I supported the other Area Franchisees in Northern California and became the liaison between them and the Corporate Office. This, in all, was a ten year adventure and allowed me to hone my collaborative and supportive skills on a daily basis. I relished in helping people achieve their goals and dreams. After our children graduated from college in 1996 and we sold our business in 1998, my husband and I decided to renovate a house. Oh, that was an experience! We definitely learned what we didn’t want to do with the rest of our lives! After selling the house in 2000 we decided to move to Texas to be near our daughter and son-in-law and be part of our grandchildren’s lives. (Which now we have a handsome 5 year old grand-son, a beautiful 3 year old grand-daughter, and a darling 1 year old grand-daughter.
As I searched for what I wanted to do next, I attended AssistU to become a Virtual Assistant because that was something I knew how to do and had experience and skills in. During that experience, I learned my true desire was to help others achieve their goals. I wanted to be in a place where I could give back to others all that I had learned and received from them. For me to help others recognize their choices, reach their goals and follow their dreams was like putting on a fun old hat and familiar jacket.
At the present time I am the Operations Manager for Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero of Red Hot Copy. I remain a member of the Assistu VA Community in order to keep my skills up-to-date and utilize all the resources available to VA Graduates. I am a member of the Schools of Coachville, a Charter Member of Coachville Communities. I continue to join many organizations to maintain my skills in helping others.
It is my hope that you have enjoyed finding out about me and that we will meet soon.
